Welcome to the Heartwood Folk School. Teaching adults and young folk the arts and skills to live a practical, joyful, Earth-caring and community-oriented life on Pender Island.

Since 2011, the Heartwood Folk School Society has been dedicated to building skill and knowledge-bases on our Gulf Island. We offer classes on a variety of subjects that help you live sustainably and self-sufficiently, such as food growing, natural house building, First Nations basketry and weaving, medicinal herb foraging, food preservation, blacksmithing, and much more.
